What you should know: Exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and start up healthcare organization headquartered in Vancouver, WA as a Payroll Specialist.  They are open to interim as well as potential fulltime candidates. You will be responsible for the management of payroll for WA and CA, collaborating closely with the Human Resources and Finance departments. The role is supervised by the VP of Human Resources with a line to the Controller part of a larger team. They are motivated and ready to hire, this one will go quick! They offer a mostly remote schedule working in office one or two days per week.

A day in the life:

  • Gather, verify, and submit necessary information for staff payroll, ensuring accuracy.
  • Review payroll records, investigate discrepancies, and handle off-cycle payroll requests.
  • Help prepare various reports, including those for benefits, paid time off, training, 401(k) retirement, State Multiple Worksite reporting, annual workers’ compensation audit, and payroll reconciliation for the yearly audit.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and company regulations, rules, and policies.
  • Suggest and assess improvements to payroll systems and procedures.
  • Reconcile payroll for the annual audit.
  • Handle off-cycle payroll requests as required.

Your areas of knowledge and expertise:

  • Associate’s Degree with 3-5 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration required.
  • Proficiency with automated accounting and payroll software.
  • Paylocity or other full-cycle payroll platform required.
  • Experience managing relationships with third-party vendors regarding employee benefits.
  • Knowledge of financial record-keeping, processing, and maintenance systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including complex spreadsheets.
  • Basic understanding of human resource management principles.

Compensation and Benefits: $65K with benefits available as an interim candidate and even more robust benefits available including medical, dental, vision, HSA and FSA, disability and paid time off upon hire.
