What you should know: Mulberry is proud to announce our partnership with a Charter School that is affiliated with the Beaverton School District to identify an experienced part-time employee who is responsible for monthly payroll for approximately 60 employees and HR support for non-time sensitive requests. They anticipate approximately 15 hours per week. This work can be done off hours if you have another fulltime position and is fully remote. Education, specifically teacher payroll experience is REQUIRED due to the complexity of pay requirements. This is a great opportunity for additional income or enough work to keep you engaged in work you enjoy doing do not want fulltime employment
Key Responsibilities:
- Process monthly payroll for all staff including substitute teachers
- Oversee hourly and salaried employee payroll transactions
- Manage complex multi-rate compensation structures
- Review time and attendance information
- Enter payroll-related data into PERS systems
- Support annual salary updates and compensation changes for school staff
- Employment verifications
- Maintain employee HR records and tracking systems using Google Sheets
- Respond to employee requests received via email
- Post new jobs and monitor applicant flow
- Assist with new hire onboarding
Your areas of knowledge and expertise:
- 3+ years of payroll experience and at least 1 year experience processing teacher payroll
- 1+ year of HR experience
- Knowledge of complex payroll rules and pay structures
- Experience with advanced, multi module payroll systems
- Experience with Paychex software highly preferred
- Skilled in Excel and Google Sheets
- Able to meet the monthly payroll deadlines, work independently, and accuractly
Compensation and Benefits: This opportunity is a long term, indefinite part-time temporary position. Hourly pay is $38-$40/HR DOE.
