What you should know: Mulberry is partnering with our client, a local Portland production company with a legacy of crafting high-quality food to families for over 40 years. In this role, you’ll report directly to the HR Manager and oversee the company’s leaves of absence and workers’ compensation programs and act as a point-of-contact for both colleagues and managers. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, detail-oriented, and comfortable interacting with all levels of the company on the floor.
A day in the life:
- Oversee the entire leave lifecycle (FMLA, OFLA, Paid Leave Oregon), managing all documentation, eligibility, and communication requirements in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Serve as a resource for managers, supervisors, and employees, explaining the connection between leave laws and paid time off, workers’ compensation, and disability benefits.
- Collaborate with Total Rewards and Payroll department to manage Paid Leave Oregon program.
- Manage the provision of ADA accommodations and resources to employees.
- Suggest updates to organizational leave policies to maintain regulatory compliance and promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
- Conduct workplace injury investigations and coordinates with all relevant departments and personnel.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise:
- 3+ years of experience administering OFLA/FMLA leaves and workers compensation
- Experience with reasonable accommodations and knowledge of applicable laws
- Bachelors degree or equivalent related experience
- Food manufacturing experience highly desired; manufacturing preferred
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification as a plus
- Exhibits strong organizational and problem-solving skills, actively engaging with employees and maintaining a visible presence throughout the organization.
