What you should know: Mulberry is thrilled to partner with a respected, long-established local manufacturer in the search for a skilled HR Business Partner to join their team. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Vice President of Human Resources and play a critical role in the company’s success by offering strategic guidance on recruitment, terminations, performance management, benefits, employee relations, and HR best practices. Based at the Portland, Oregon plant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with both union and non-union employees and management, fostering strong, collaborative relationships across the organization.
A day in the life:
- Supports administration, coordination, and application of company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices.
- Fosters an environment of open communication and respect and promotes the open-door policy.
- Develops and maintains successful working relationships with the management team to influence and provide effective HR processes, advice, and support.
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation and assist with the 90-day onboarding of new and transitioning employees.
- Manages and assists with employee relations issues and recommends actions consistent with corporate policies and regulatory compliance.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field is preferred.
- SHRM-CP or PHR Certification is a plus
- 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Extensive knowledge in employee relations, investigations, coaching and collaborating with managers, and recruiting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management programs.
- Demonstrated ability to guide and support managers in hiring decisions.
- Strong capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A collaborative mindset with a focus on relationship-building and a strong work ethic.
- Confidence to build relationships on all levels of the organization.
- Union experience is a plus.
- Experience working in manufacturing, production, warehouse required.
Compensation and Benefits: $95-$105k/YR plus bonus with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision plans. 401K, FSA, life insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, and complimentary financial wellness planning services.
