They are entering a new era as the seek an Executive Director who provides direction and leadership through inspiration and guidance. This role advances programs, care, education, and advocacy by shaping strategy, strengthening organizational capacity, and building influential partnerships across healthcare, government, and the impacted community. The Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors and the organization’s founder to set vision and priorities, lead a high‑performing team, and represent the organization with credibility across clinical, scientific, policy, donor, and public audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Mission Impact
- Lead the development and execution of a mission‑aligned strategic plan focused on improving outcomes for people impacted by the disease.
- Translate emerging science, care models, and policy trends into organizational priorities and programs.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and measurable impact across research, care, and community initiatives.
Healthcare & Policy Leadership
- Serve as a trusted voice related health policy, access to care, and patient advocacy.
- Build and maintain relationships with care providers and partners, policymakers, regulatory agencies, healthcare systems, and national advocacy coalitions.
- Guide the organization’s policy agenda, including legislative priorities, regulatory engagement, and public‑health initiatives.
- Monitor and interpret developments in neurology, movement disorders, clinical guidelines, and healthcare delivery models to inform strategy.
Program & Organizational Management
- Oversee high‑quality programs in patient services, education, advocacy, and community engagement.
- Build and mentor a strong, diverse team with clear goals, accountability, and professional development pathways.
- Strengthen operational systems, processes, and infrastructure to support sustainable growth.
Financial Stewardship
- Develop and manage the annual budget in partnership with the Board Finance Committee.
- Ensure strong financial controls, transparency, and compliance with nonprofit and healthcare‑related regulations.
- Drive revenue growth through philanthropy, grants, corporate partnerships, and healthcare‑aligned funding opportunities.
Fundraising & External Relations
- Serve as the organization’s primary ambassador to donors, foundations, corporate partners, and the community.
- Lead fundraising strategy, donor cultivation, and stewardship, with a focus on mission‑aligned investment in research and care.
- Represent the organization in public forums, scientific meetings, healthcare conferences, and media.
Founder Partnership & Public Profile Management
- Serve as the primary organizational partner to the celebrity founder, ensuring alignment between founder priorities, organizational strategy, and mission impact.
- Manage and optimize the founder’s involvement in public events, advocacy efforts, fundraising, and media engagements.
- Protect and steward the founder’s brand and public platform in ways that advance the organization’s credibility, visibility, and influence.
Board Partnership & Governance
- Partner with the Board to ensure strong governance, strategic alignment, and effective decision‑
- Provide timely, accurate reporting and insights to support Board oversight.
- Engage Board members as thought partners, ambassadors, and fundraisers.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise:
- Senior leadership experience in nonprofit, healthcare, public health, or mission‑driven organizations.
- Demonstrated expertise in health policy, healthcare systems, or government affairs—ideally with experience in neurology, chronic disease, or patient advocacy.
- Experience partnering with high‑profile individuals, public figures, or celebrity advocates in a mission‑driven context.
- Proven success in fundraising, partnership development, and external engagement.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and organizational performance.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage scientific, clinical, policy, donor, and public audiences.
- Commitment to improving the lives of people impacted and advancing equitable access to care and services.
Compensation and Benefits: Competitive annual compensation plus bonus up to 15%. 100% employee paid benefits including health, vision, dental, and disability. 22 days of PTO and 11 annual holidays.
