What you should know: Mulberry is partnering with Impact NW, a nonprofit with a mission to prevent homelessness. They are seeking a strategic and relationship-oriented Director of Development to help shape the organization’s next chapter of growth and community impact.
This is not a traditional fundraising role; they are looking for a leader who can build authentic partnerships, strengthen donor engagement, diversify revenue streams, and help navigate an evolving nonprofit and funding landscape.
A day in the life:
As a key member of the leadership team, you will:
- Lead and execute a long-term fundraising and philanthropic engagement strategy
- Cultivate major donors, institutional funders, corporate partners, and public-sector relationships
- Strengthen cross-sector partnerships with foundations, elected officials, community organizations, and stakeholders
- Help elevate organizational visibility, influence, and sustainability across the region
- Partner closely with executive leadership, board members, and internal teams to foster a strong culture of philanthropy
The ideal candidate brings a combination of strategic thinking, emotional intelligence, and strong relationship-building skills. This person understands how to connect mission to investment, inspire donor confidence, and translate community impact into meaningful engagement and long-term support.
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years of nonprofit development or fundraising leadership experience required
- Experience managing a development budget of $8M+ annually
- Success leading strategic fundraising initiatives and achieving revenue goals
- Experience working with public agencies, elected officials, or community coalitions
- Background in social services, housing, behavioral health, or community-based nonprofits
