What you should know: Mulberry is excited to partner with a local PNW manufacturing equipment services company in NE Portland, OR, to hire an experienced Controller. In this key role, you’ll oversee financial statements, maintain fiscal integrity, drive budgeting, and ensure tax compliance while supporting strategic decision-making for the senior management team. You’ll lead a team of three and work closely with the President, who is committed to your professional growth. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, a strategic partner, enjoys being a part of a collaborative team and open to occasional travel. A day in the life:
- Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures.
- Prepare and review company’s financial statements in accordance with GAAP, ensuring accuracy and compliance through internal and external audits.
- Oversee the financial planning and budgeting process, monitoring performance against budgets.
- Recommend benchmarks for measuring financial performance.
- Lead in tax planning and compliance for all federal, state, and local income, payroll, and sales.
- Coordinate the annual audit and provide guidance for the mid-year review.
- Supervise, train, and coach accounting department.
- Provide company policy orientation for all new staff.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise:
- 3+ years of experience as a Controller required with demonstrated career gowth.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration highly desired.
- Demonstrated experience building strong relationships with executives, employees, and external partners.
- Proven ability and experience in financial reporting, operating budgets, and tax compliance.
- Proficient in MS Excel required.
Compensation and Benefits: $120-$130K with medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k with a company match, PTO, paid holidays, and family-friendly summer gatherings, including BBQ events.
