What you should know: Mulberry is the honored to partner with a 100% employee-owned specialty manufacturing company in Forest Grove, OR.  They have been crafting and innovating architectural interior products for over 65 years.  They are seeking an Accounting, Finance & HR Manager, a newly created role reporting to the President that will support growth of the company while overseeing a team ensuring financial accuracy, compliance and employee engagement.  As an ESOP company, this position is responsible for and requires experience leading all ESOP related financial processes.  As the company grows, this role is well positioned for continued opportunity and advancement.  This is a special opportunity to join a company that is proud of the work they do where employee tenure averages over 20 years.  Candidates who display the ability to work both strategically and in the daily finance, accounting and human resources operations will stand out.

This position is fulltime, onsite, and requires a background check and drug screen including THC upon acceptance of offer and at random per company policy.

A day in the life:

  • Lead ESOP financial reporting and management, including annual forecasts, repurchase obligation, diversifications, distributions, allocations, participant statements, coordinating annual reporting with the TPA and ensuring compliance with ESOP regulations
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger while identifying and implanting process improvements
  • Supervise, guide and coach a team including accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing
  • Oversee and at times administer payroll and record daily transactions
  • Manage company credit policies, contracts, and banking relationships
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
  • Develop and manage forecasts and cash flow projections
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls
  • Work with external accountants and financial advisors
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to leadership to support decision-making
  • Administer HR compliance, benefits, and employee records
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and performance review processes
  • Guide supervisors on employee relations and HR compliance issues
  • Provide monthly updates to the leadership team on financial results, cash flow, HR compliance, and ESOP matters
  • Partner with leadership to support workforce planning, training, and succession development

Your areas of knowledge and expertise:

  • 8–10 years of finance and accounting experience in a mid-sized ESOP business including at least 3 years of supervisory experience
  • 2 + year of human resources experience including payroll, benefits administration and employee engagement
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field are preferred
  • Advanced degrees, such as an MBA, and professional certifications will be an advantage
  • Direct experience managing ESOP financials, reporting, and compliance
  • Experience supporting an in-progress system conversion to Microsoft Business Central and able to serve as future SME
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financials into clear guidance.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance financial discipline with people-focused leadership
  • Experience with succession planning and organizational development
  • Management of finance and accounting in a recognized Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Microsoft Business Central highly preferred
  • Experience using HRIS platforms. ADP Workforce now preferred
