What you should know: Mulberry has partnered with a local battery manufacturing organization that is growing quickly to hire an Accountant! They are a small and dynamic team of 15 and work in research & development, design, manufacturing, and testing. The ideal candidate is resourceful, curious, intuitive, and able to navigate a fast-paced environment and contribute to the company’s continued growth!  An interest in process and systems improvements will create some exciting projects and initiatives and opportunity for you to grow in this role.

 

A day in the life:

  • Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
  • Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
  • Maintains the general ledger.
  • Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
  • Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
  • Reviews and/or assists with preparation of financial statements and records provided to federal, state, and internal auditors and similar personnel.
  • Analyzes financial data, making recommendations as appropriate to improve accuracy, efficiency, and to reduce costs.
  • Processes bi-monthly payroll
  • Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
  • Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  • Files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
  • Conduct inventory and procurement.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Your areas of knowledge and expertise:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years in full-cycle accounting required
  • Experience in manufacturing required
  • Experience in QuickBooks preferred
  • Must have high attention to detail, strong professional confidence, collaborative, curiosity, resourcefulness, and tenacious
  • Experience in system implementation is highly desired

Compensation and Benefits: $80,000 – $90,000 annually with benefits like medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k, nine paid holidays, PTO, and more!
