What you should know: We are seeking an Accountant to join our collaborative team to process a variety of accounting transactions (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking, and Journal Ledger). This position will require a qualified candidate that is able to work independently, in a timely fashion, with great attention to the detail. The candidate will be part of a small accounting team. Additionally, based on the skill set and interests, other opportunities may include cost accounting, cost management, fixed asset management and expense analysis. An interest in tax & financial reporting are an advantage.

A day in the life:
- Entering Account Payables in the accounting system, creating down payment invoices, processing ACH, credit card and check payments.
- Maintaining petty cash account and bank entries, including outgoing and incoming payments.
- Communicating with suppliers and customers about payments and possible overdue invoices.
- Preparing and posting accounting accruals.
- Reconciling selected GL accounts.
- Accounting for various internal journal entries.
- Participating on the accounting close and audits.
Additional Tasks per Previous Knowledge and Interest:
- Tracking fixed assets, processing depreciation entries, posting journal entries for fixed assets purchases and disposals.
- Costing, variance analysis, yearly cost roll up, rates set up, inventory reports analysis, obsolescence calculations.
- R&D or Engineering department controlling.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise:
- Associate’s degree in accounting or finance or an equivalent combination of education training and/or experience with comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained.
- Intermediate Excel.
- 2+ years in an Accountant role.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and full cycle accounting.
- Previous experience with processing AP, AR, and journal entries.
- Interest in continuous learning in accounting and finance.
Compensation and Benefits:
- $28-$33/HR
