What you should know: Mulberry is partnering with an established local construction company with locations throughout the Northwest. They are a leader in their industry with an impressive portfolio of work. They are ready and motivated to hire an experienced Accounting and Office Manager reporting directly to the owner. The ideal candidate is sharp, resourceful, solution-oriented, organized, and positive. You will have two direct reports and have the opportunity to interact with many teams and departments and make an impact across the entire company.

A day in the life:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:
    • Month and end-year process.
    • Accounts payable/receivable.
    • Cash receipts.
    • Payroll and utilities (Back up the payroll department, prevailing wage experience would be a plus).
    • Check runs.
    • Coordinate and complete annual audits.
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
  • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Monitor and maintain all required business licenses, permits, and renewals.
  • Request, track, and manage insurance certificates with brokers and vendors.
  • Review collections activity, follow up on past‑due accounts, and support cash flow efforts.
  • Support smooth front‑office and branch operations by identifying gaps, resolving issues, and improving processes as needed.

Your areas of knowledge and expertise:

  • 5+ years’ experience as an Accounting and Office Manager
  • Experience in construction or manufacturing required
  • Must have experience with previous direct reports
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance preferred though relevant work experience will be considered
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office, Google Docs, accounting software and systems
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data via Excel
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations

Compensation and Benefits: $75,000 – $80,000 in annual compensation.  Benefits include medical and dental plans, PTO, holiday pay and 401k with a company match!
