They are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting team, reporting to the CEO, who has effectively worked in an entrepreneurial organization. A day in the life:
- Lead and manage all core accounting functions including A/P, A/R, Fixed Assets, General Accounting, Cost Accounting and Payroll.
- Maintain accurate financials in accordance with GAAP and on an accrual basis.
- Establish and enforce procedures for accurate reporting, efficient operations, and safeguarding company assets, including adequate separation of duties.
- Conduct regular reviews of the General Ledger and perform quarterly accrual adjustments to ensure meaningful financial insights.
- Oversee periodic physical inventories to ensure accuracy and asset protection.
- Secure and manage cost accounting services to maintain reasonable material and labor standards.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with budget and prior year comparisons.
- Lead the annual budgeting process in alignment with Board goals and timelines.
- Manage banking relationships and ensure financial security is in place.
- Participate in executive team meetings, providing financial insight and operational support.
- Oversee accurate and timely filing of all taxes and coordinate with CPA firms for periodic audits.
- Support Board activities through reporting, analysis, and participation in meetings as needed.
- Provide due diligence and financial transparency in the event of capital raising or ownership transition efforts.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise:
- 5+ years of proven experience as a Controller able to serve as the highest-ranking financial professional in the organization
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual accounting principals
- Demonstrated success in financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls
- Experience managing physical inventory and cost accounting functions.
- Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and Excel
- CPA and experience in manufacturing preferred
Compensation and Benefits: $150-$160K in annual compensation plus benefits to include 100% employee paid health and wellness, 401k, vacation based on your years of experience vs. your tenure with the company, paid sick time, holiday pay and more!
