Mulberry is partnering with our longtime client a family-owned company with 110-year deep PNW roots to hire for a Purchasing Specialist. This is a great fit opportunity for an emerging professional with the right background to develop in their career or a more seasoned professional who can bring instant experience and value. You will have the opportunity to work closely with multiple dynamic departments reporting to the Controller. A key focus is on driving standardization of purchasing and receiving processes to reduce work and errors. They are an admired leader in their industry providing the highest quality product courtesy of happy and healthy chickens.
A day in the life:
- Coordinating company-wide purchasing and receiving of inventory, supplies, and services while managing 50+ vendors and 100+ weekly deliveries
- Placing a high volume of purchase orders weekly
- Work with multiple departments on purchasing needs, develop expertise in products, make recommendations for alternative products for cost savings or shortages
- Managing inventory levels of supplies, tracking needs and developing min/max programs
- Assisting in physical counting of inventories at least monthly
- Tracking costs for all major purchase categories from multiple vendors
- Initiating and managing RFP’s annually for all major purchase categories
- Analyzing purchasing costs and trends across the company presenting trends and saving initiatives
- Work closely with AP department to minimize rework in paying invoices
Your areas of knowledge and expertise:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business or equivalent training
- Experience in purchasing, negotiation, and sourcing
- Strongly proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organization skills in managing paperwork flow, inventories, and costs
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment while maintaining organization, attention to detail, ability to manage projects and have fun!

Compensation and Benefits: $60-$80K/year DOE. Medical and Dental insurance at a very generous rate. The company also provides paid time off, short term disability, 401(k), holiday pay, company provided life insurance, and more.
