As a national account leader, you will manage and grow existing key customer accounts and add targeted new accounts. You’ll be responsible for the strategy, growth, performance, and overall success of your accounts, strengthening the image and distribution of the company, products, and brands.
A day in the life:
- Identify and sell new national accounts (Regional/national chains, key retailers or food service accounts, distributors, wholesalers, re-distributors)
- Deliver budgeted sales for these accounts while growing number of items and brands sold to each customer profitably.
- Identify customer opportunities/product gaps and create systemized sales plans to support and execute.
- Increase sales of branded product YOY.
- Communicate market info, trends, and pricing to customers.
- Manage customer credit requests and collaborate with A/R & Collections Team on credit policies and payment terms.
- Conduct new item presentations to clients.
- Collaborate with Category Managers to help define our company direction in the procurement, inventory, and sale of product by category.
- Project/forecast category sales and margin for annual budget plan.
- Conduct regular customer performance reviews and business planning sessions.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise:
- 2 years of sales experience in seafood/protein is required
- Minimum of 5 years of foodservice sales experience with a track record of account growth
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 40% within the US
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Knowledge of order processing systems, Microsoft Word, and Excel
