What you should know: Mulberry is partnering with a well-established, very stable manufacturing company in NE Portland to identify a Human Resources Manager. They are a private, family-owned company with impressive employee tenure and loyalty. They highly value their diverse workforce of 150 employees. A right fit candidate is a trusted and strategic advisor to the company owners around employee experience, the needs of the business and a leader of their team made up of an HR Generalist and HR Coordinator. Responsibilities and oversight areas include performance management, policy improvement and development, recruiting, employee relations, compensation, payroll and benefits. You will serve as a key member of the leadership team reporting to owners. Must have ability to coach, influence and affect change with integrity and professionalism.
A day in the life:
- Establishes and executes the strategic HR plan to support organizational growth, employee engagement, recruiting and retention, organizational culture, organizational design, leadership development, and benefits/compensation programs.
- Oversees the full talent acquisition strategy, setting standards and providing direction to ensure effective recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.
- Develops and maintains workforce planning strategies to identify staffing needs, talent gaps, and succession opportunities.
- Provides leadership and guidance to HR staff, department managers, and supervisors on complex, specialized, sensitive and high impact matters such as reasonable accommodation, investigations, disciplinary actions, or terminations.
- Promotes a positive work environment and partners with leaders to enhance employee engagement and organizational culture.
- Oversees employee relations including disciplinary processes, investigations, and terminations, ensuring consistent application of policies and legal compliance.
- Directs the analysis of compensation and benefits trends; recommends competitive pay
- structures, incentive programs, and recognition initiatives to attract and retain talent.
- Oversees the annual benefits renewal process, including evaluating plan options, negotiating
- with brokers, coordinating enrollment, and communicating changes to employees.
- Develop and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; updates HR policies and practices to maintain compliance and align with best practices.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise:
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience displaying growth in your career with 3+ years of leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field
- Professional HR certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, laws and regulations
- HR systems and tools proficiencies
- Manufacturing or adjacent industry experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Compensation and Benefits: $100-$120K in annual compensation plus bi-annual bonus. Benefits include a selection of different health plans, PTO, paid holidays, and 401k after 90 days of employment and more! Best of all – enjoy half day Fridays working a schedule of Monday-Thursday 6am-3:15pm and Friday 6am-11am.
