Mulberry Talent Partners is the exclusive partner to our longtime client, a family-owned company with 110-year deep PNW roots to hire for a General Manager, Production & Operations for Oregon. They are an admired leader in their industry providing the highest quality product courtesy of happy and healthy chickens.  You will oversee production operations at their locations in Aurora and Shedd as well as foster and build relationships with their partner farms. This is a multi-layer role offering an opportunity to make a significant impact on the growth of the organization.  Experience with people leadership, food production operations oversight and business and community partnership development are the keys to success. Reporting to the COO, this is a new role you will have a hand in designing that will foster growth of the organization and development of employees. Your time will be split working onsite with farms as well as at the locations in Aurora and Shedd alongside dedicated Production Managers.

A day in the life:

  • Support Production Managers in development and oversight of KPIs, including team member safety, quality and food safety, and financial metrics
  • Perform barn audits working with farmers to maintain compliance with multiple state and federal regulations
  • Develop and foster relationships with new farms building new business opportunities
  • Support and develop leadership skills of Production Managers serving as a resource, mentor and guide
  • Monitor and analyze costs of production operations and in accordance with annual budgets
  • Maintain partnerships with vendors, suppliers and clients

Your areas of knowledge and expertise:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; work experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirements
  • Basic understanding of GMPS, HACCP, GFSI Food Quality Programs (BRC, SQF) OSHA and EPA regulations and requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in food production and agriculture, ideally with livestock required
  • Experience in business development and customer facing interactions
  • Characteristics to include teaching style leadership, humble, interested in learning, trustworthy and credible

Compensation and Benefits: $120-140K DOE. Medical and Dental insurance at a very generous rate. The company also provides paid time off, short term disability, 401(k), holiday pay, company provided life insurance, and more. Company vehicle provided.
