You bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 3-5 years’ experience as an accountant or equivalent position, preferably in a nonprofit
- Previous experience using NetSuite is strongly preferred
- Advanced technological aptitude; high-level competency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Prior experience in new financial system implementations is a plus.
- Ability to analyze and think critically; ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
Role: This position will initially report to the CFO with the plan to eventually transition reporting to the Controller. The accountant position requires a detail oriented, experienced finance professional who will provide accounting support for a newly forming organization. The primary functions include preparing and reviewing accounting entries, reconciliation of accounts including investment and bank accounts, preparing, and verifying journal entries, and the processing of weekly accounts payables. Among other duties, the accountant will assist with weekly transactions, monthly closings, account analysis as well as special projects. The successful candidate will be a nimble and independent accounting professional with a track record of success in simplification and problem solving, an excellent listener, a thoughtful communicator, and a willingness to help where needed.
