What you should know: Mulberry is partnering with an innovative company who specializes in high performance equipment for the Life Sciences industry. They are seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting and financial operations in support of strategic, forward-looking business decisions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hardware manufacturing environment and is excited to develop cost accounting practices and help build scalable, efficient processes. You’ll play a key role in shaping the financial future. A successful Controller will see a clear path to CFO.
A day in the life:
Oversee and supervise accounting department activities including:
- Receivables, Payables and Payroll functions, and internal and external monthly financial statements
- Balance sheets, profit & loss, cashflow statements, closing cycle, balance sheet reconciliations
- Inventory management & reconciliation
- Develop internal control policies & procedures for accounting activities.
- Stay current on organizational policies & procedures, federal & state policies, and accounting standards.
- Coordinate annual financial audit, activities to support federal & state filings, tax credit.
- Lead the organization in manufacturing cost accounting implementation.
- Update all sectors of company’s fiscal activities with cost accounting methodology.
- Oversee accurate application of sales commissions, support company cap table & employee options.
- Coordinate activities for business insurance and risk management.
- Maintain internal systems and controls that verify the integrity of systems, processes, and data.
- Prepare, support or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures and efficient control and utilization of financial resources.
- Analyze the financial details of past, present, and expected operations to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed.
- Evaluate needs for procurement of funds and investment of surpluses and make appropriate recommendations.
- Oversee, mentor, and cross-train accounting staff.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, operations, supply chain, etc.
- Provide financial results for board presentations; advise on short & long-term financial objectives & actions.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise:
- Bachelor’s degree required (finance, accounting); CPA or CMA preferred
- 5+ years’ accounting/finance experience in manufacturing
- 5+ years of supervisory experience
This role is a full-time, on-site, salaried position
Compensation and Benefits: $150-$180K in annual compensation plus benefits
