Senior HR Generalist – Downtown Portland

Mulberry Talent Partners has joined with a Portland technology company to identify a Senior Human Resources Generalist with a background in recruitment, performance management, compensation, and data analytics.

This is an opportunity to join a company with a culture that is both dynamic and ambitious. The HR team is comprised of 5 individuals who are action-oriented, focused on strengthening and automating processes, providing a high level of customer service, and maintaining a culture where employees feel engaged and passionate about the work they do. The ideal candidate will come from the tech industry (start-up or well established), or a role within a data-driven, progressive company.

Responsibilities at a glance:

  • Manage the full cycle recruitment process; partner with managers and provide guidance on hiring best practices, interview techniques, and making offers
  • Manage the organization’s Diversity Strategy – Builds community relationships with diverse individuals, schools and other associations to ensure the organization is consistently developing and maintaining a robust, diverse and sustainable talent pipeline
  • Manage the compensation strategy:  Includes compensation review, benchmarking internally and externally, review of internal equity by department, maintain consistency of job roles across the organization and processes all compensation requests
  • Manage the employee relations activities to maintain a work environment that supports effective, productive contributions and an opportunity for growth for all employees while supporting the established company policies
  • Administer Performance Management System and processes not limited to Development Plans, Check-ins, Roles, Career Paths, and Succession Planning (semi-annually)
  • Identify and assist with the build of onboarding programs, and other organizational training programs designed to meet the organizational vision
  • Serve as a mentor to team members and help coach team members in support of the Sr. Manager and to achieve department goals
  • Support, coordinate, train, assist with preparation, and implementation of organizational policies, programs, and procedures
  • Assist in implementation, administration, and reporting of all HRIS systems
  • Manage HR software, provide reporting as needed, ensure the integrity and accuracy of employee information related to payroll and benefits

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of providing operational support and service in Human Resources
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP preferred
  • Strong proficiency in a variety of software programs including Microsoft Office, Visio, HRIS and compensation software; Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Experience with recruiting, performance management, compensation, and data analytics
  • Ability to speak in front of large groups and executive leadership
  • Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and a natural curiosity
  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
  • Eager to learn and works well within a team environment
  • Productive and efficient by nature
  • Thoughtful and mindful business communication skills
