Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant – Vancouver, WA

Mulberry Talent Partners has joined with our client in Vancouver to identify a Senior Accountant for a direct-hire role. In this position, you will generate accounting and financial reports through a consistent application of processes & procedures for multiple companies.  In addition, you will facilitate functions related to tax compliance, banking, finance, and insurance. The ideal candidate will bring a strong work history in accounting, proven data analysis skills, and an expert-level proficiency in Excel.

Responsibilities at a glance:

  • Coordinate procedures with accounting team and produce GAAP financials and related management reports timely and accurately
  • Maintain job cost vs GL reconciliations and balances accurately in addition to performing reviews of costs vs estimates and posting required adjustments
  • Maintain accurate and up to date account reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Maintain chart of accounts in accordance with industry standards and established company practice
  • Identify and maintain internal control procedures to reduce risk and safeguard company assets
  • Facilitate wires and other treasury functions. Analyze, prepare and coordinate construction loans and generate reports for lender compliance
  • Preparation of workpapers to facilitate annual engagements
  • Reporting and administrative duties related to facilitating insurance policies & practices
  • Assist in producing accurate and timely financial statements through general ledger journal entries
  • Prepare monthly accruals, related reporting, and interim audits
  • Participates in annual budgeting process
  • Identify and implement process improvements as it relates to accounting, finance, and reporting functions
  • Participates in developing and completing annual and interim strategic goals

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally in construction, manufacturing, or real estate
  • Significant work experience with general ledger and financial statements
  • Job costing experience highly preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting, or equivalent experience
  • CPA license or CPA related work experience a plus
  • Expert-level Excel and advanced Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Advanced knowledge of queries including pivot tables, data connections, table structures, filtering, and joining or other basic data manipulation
