HR Manager – NW Portland

Mulberry Talent Partners has joined with our client in NW Portland to identify a Human Resources Manager for the manufacturing facility. In this integral role, you will be responsible for overseeing key human resource functions including employee relations, talent management and acquisition, workers compensation, and employee development. You will partner with the Human Resources Director in communicating organizational policies, strategies, and programs that support and complement the present and future business needs.

Responsibilities at a glance:

  • Oversee talent acquisition and development, including coaching and counseling, performance appraisals, recruitment of manager-level positions, training, and career development
  • Manage employee relations function including conducting investigations, advising managers on appropriate resolutions, monitoring employee counseling and performance improvement plans, overseeing involuntary terminations, and conducting exit interviews
  • Provide consultative hiring support to managers by advising on hiring decisions, EEO, compensation, and benefits
  • Oversee HR staff including interviewing, hiring, training, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions
  • Support managers in resolving complex human resource issues
  • Identify and implement training opportunities
  • Proactively analyze trends to support the development and implementation of retention strategies
  • Partner with the HR Director and senior management in developing strategic workforce plans and processes

What we’re looking for:

  • 7-10 years’ of progressively responsible human resource experience, including a minimum of 4 years’ leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business, or related field
  • Demonstrated operational and strategic HR leader
  • HR leadership experience in a unionized environment preferred
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with ADP is a plus
