HR Assistant – Troutdale

Mulberry Talent Partners has joined with our manufacturing client in Troutdale to identify a Human Resources Assistant for a temp-to-hire role. As the HR Assistant, you will provide administrative support in areas including timekeeping, recruitment and hiring, benefits administration, onboarding and benefits orientation, and event planning. This position pays $16.00-$18.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities at a glance:

  • Assists with recruitment, including; updating job descriptions, posting jobs, scheduling interviews, conducting background checks and drafting offer letters
  • Schedules and conducts new hire and benefit orientations
  • Screens new hire employment eligibility via E-Verify
  • Processes new hires, rehires & terminations in an accurate and timely manner, ensures all documentation is in order and filed appropriately
  • Collects and processes benefits enrollments and changes and sets up new benefit deductions for employees in the appropriate pay period for deductions
  • Manages benefit provider accounts and audits enrollment information for accuracy and reconciles monthly employee benefit insurance billings
  • Assists with annual open enrollment
  • Assists with leave administration and ensures compliance with FMLA, OFLA, ADA and other local, State and Federal leave laws
  • Assists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures
  • Creates, maintains and verifies various daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
  • Assists in organizing company events.
  • Assists in continuous improvement initiatives to automate tasks and increase efficiencies


  • 2+ years’ experience in an HR Assistant role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • ADP Workforce Now experience highly desired
  • At least 1 year of experience in two or more of the following areas: hiring/recruiting, performance management, employee relations, position descriptions, employee onboarding, training
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Previous experience with an HRIS and payroll system required
