Compensation & Benefits Manager – SE Portland

Mulberry Talent Partners has joined with our client in SE Portland to identify a Compensation & Benefits Manager. In this newly created role you will provide overall leadership for the conceptualization, strategies, program development, implementation, communications, and administration of all compensation, health and welfare, and retirement benefits plans. Experience within a manufacturing environment is required.

Responsibilities at a glance:

  • Develops and maintains the company’s benefits and wellness philosophy and strategy. Modify, as appropriate, to produce long-term goals and multi-year objectives for all benefit plans and programs that support the attraction and retention of top talent
  • Design, implement and communicate compensation and salary administration programs
  • Understand, analyze and present data around compensation and benefits best practices and trends
  • Recommend and conduct salary surveys in order to understand competitive compensation levels in the organization and market
  • Manages, directly and through the benefits team, all health and retirement benefit programs to ensure the organization offers an effective and competitive benefits package, producing the best results in the most cost efficient manner
  • Directs and provides leadership for vendor management including contract negotiation, competitive bid analysis, contract performance monitoring, vendor inquiries and problem resolution
  • Continually assess the company’s benefit plans and processes, ensuring the organization is current with all regulatory compliance requirements including state and federal leave of absence programs
  • Manages the company’s annual benefits budget, including the evaluation and selection of third-party administrators. Manages vendor and broker relationships
  • In partnership with the parent company’s Benefits Manager, leads the administration of the pension program
  • Leads initiatives around benchmarking of all benefits to ensure the company remains competitive and aligned with market trends
  • Researches and monitors Wellness strategies and platforms that align with business objectives

What we’re looking for:

  • 10+ years’ experience within a benefits role, including 7+ years’ experience in a benefits management position
  • Total rewards experience with foundational knowledge of compensation highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency and knowledge of ADP required
  • Experience in healthcare plan design
  • Demonstrated ability to develop teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent organizational skills, and initiative
  • Experience within the manufacturing industry is required
