Mulberry Talent Partners has joined with our client, a company located in Tigard, OR and Medford, OR to identify a Senior Benefits Specialist to join their team. This is a full-time, direct-hire, hybrid position. The ideal candidate will be located in the Portland-Metro area or Medford, OR but the company is willing to consider candidates out of area that have the right experience. The schedule for this position is M-F, 8AM-5PM. Candidates with self-motivation, benefits experience, and knowledge of data analytics are well-positioned to succeed in this role.

The Senior Benefits Specialist is primarily responsible for benefit plan administration, analyzing data and providing findings to leadership, process improvements, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have robust data analytical skills, experience with Workday benefits administration software, be able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and be able to collaborate as a part of a team. The Senior Benefits Specialist reports to the Benefits Manager.

Your Role:

  • Administer and ensure compliance of all Benefit Plans:
    • Insurance plans (medical, dental, vision, life, STD, LTD, supplemental)
    • 401(k)
    • ESPP
    • FSA (health, dependent, commuter)
    • Executive plans (SERP, Deferred Comp, LTD, LTC)
  • Process payment of all benefit billings and ensure payments are on time and accurate.
  • Audit benefit carriers and Workday to ensure all employee changes have been accurately entered into systems
  • Review system integrations, system configuration, and reporting
  • Administer and process:
    • Leave of Absence Administration
    • Disability Claims
    • Benefit Verifications & Medical Support Orders
    • Qualifying Life Events
    • Loss of Life Events
    • COBRA
    • Union Dues
  • Advise employees on eligibility, coverage, and other benefit matters.
  • Function as a liaison between employees and carriers to help resolve employee concerns

You Bring:

  • Benefit administration system experience, Workday system preferred
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems and data transmission
  • Attention to detail
  • Sense of urgency
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Time management (ability to prioritize workload and manage one’s own time)
  • Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships (developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others)
  • Bachelor’s degree or related experience in Human Resources, Finance, or Business Administration
  • General knowledge of accounting
