Payroll Specialist – Downtown Portland
Mulberry Talent Partners has joined with our client, a large non-profit in downtown Portland, to identify a Payroll Specialist for their team. The ideal candidate will be an efficient multitasker, and comfortable with managing multiple responsibilities.
In this direct-hire role, you will be responsible for executing the full cycle preparation of payroll. This is a bi-weekly process that must be in compliance with all applicable laws, organization policies, and collective bargaining agreement. You will maintain a high level of customer service within and outside of the organization. You will assist the entry of account information, provide ongoing analysis and recommendations for improved product utilization of the payroll systems, and compile, record, pay all employee expense reimbursements. It is important that you adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and to the organization’s policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security.
The ideal candidate:
You bring 4+ years’ payroll experience, a bachelor’s degree or payroll certification, and in-depth knowledge of payroll administration. Experience in the understanding and application of a union agreement is extremely important. Knowledge of UltiPro and Ultimate Time Management (UTM) software is desired. Extensive experience with bargaining agreements and represented payroll processing preferred. You have excellent computer skills; Microsoft Office applications, especially, Excel and Word. SAGE MIP fund accounting software preferred. You have a passion for helping others and a desire to work in an organization that serves people who are experiencing poverty and homelessness.
