Mulberry Talent Partners has joined with our client in Vancouver, WA who is seeking an Import Specialist to join their team! This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in international imports, trucking, and ocean cargo to join an established company dedicated to integrity and employee engagement. This is a full-time position that can be remote for LOCAL to Portland and Vancouver area candidates.  There is also the option to work a hybrid schedule from their office in Vancouver if that is your preference.  They offer with excellent benefits, including an annual company retreat!

The role:

  • Provide direct support to traders managing purchases, inventory and invoicing
  • Provide support to other Import/Export Specialists including covering their desk when they take time off
  • Interact effectively with customers, suppliers and third-party warehouses
  • Maintain all documentation for order files
  • Coordinate with third-party warehouses to release product to carries for delivery to customers
  • Set up and approve payments to vendors

The ideal candidate:

  • 5 + years of experience working in import/export or product trade with a strong aptitude for math
  • Advanced Excel required as well as the ability to embrace new technology
  • Strong computer skills required including proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Outlook with significant work in Excel. Ability to be trained on company’s proprietary software running on an IBM AS400.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable to change, and work as a team
  • Proactive and confident decision-making skills
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and efficiency
  • Ability to time manage and multitask
  • Excellent math skills to be able to convert lumber and wood products into different units of measure, including board feet, cubic feet, cubic meters, lineal feet, surface square feet.  Also proficient in algebra for building formulas in Excel.
  • Knowledge of lumber industry and importing of material to US desired
  • Experience in cross border and rail shipments a plus

 Compensation: $60K plus a quarterly bonus up to 15% and profit sharing
