They are committed to providing exceptional service and innovative solutions to their clients and are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Operations Manager to oversee distribution operations and people management.
The General Operations Manager will manage the distribution operations, including logistics, warehousing, inventory management, people management, and customer service. This role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of the distribution industry and a proven ability to manage complex operations efficiently and effectively. The position reports directly to the CEO.
A day in the life:
Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage all aspects of distribution operations, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
Operational Oversight:
- Oversee logistics, warehousing, and inventory management to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Implement and maintain best practices in distribution and supply chain management.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency and profitability, risk control, strategy, performance metrics, goal setting, and policy development.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the annual budget for the distribution department, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Analyze financial reports and data to make informed business decisions.
- Optimize cost management and identify opportunities for revenue growth.
- Proven experience in cost management, audit documentation and reports.
Sales and Customer Service:
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute strategies to meet customer needs and achieve sales targets.
- Ensure exceptional customer service standards are met or exceeded.
- Address customer feedback and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Implement and maintain health and safety protocols to protect employees and assets.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to compliance and safety standards.
Human Resources:
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team.
- Implement performance management systems and employee engagement programs.
- Address employee concerns and foster a culture of open communication.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Proven experience as an operations manager or in a similar senior management supervisory role within the distribution industry.
- Knowledge of employment laws and works closely with the human resource department.
- Strong understanding of distribution operations, logistics, and supply chain management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using distribution and supply chain management software and tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Compensation and Benefits: $110,000 – $130,000 annually
